Cross-shaft center supports

Cross-shaft center supports are used on some pedal steel guitars. The purpose of these supports is to provide a stop (or support) to prevent flexing in the cross-shaft. The supports may take the form of individual supports on each cross-shaft or a single, center bracket running most of the length of the guitar, through which all cross-shafts pass. The need for these center supports is dependent upon the choice of materials for the cross-shafts and the length of the cross-shaft. Cross-shafts can be made from a variety of materials and in a variety of configurations.
