Here is a fairly standard E9/B6 Universal Tuning. It uses 7 Pedals and 5 Knee Levers on an S-12.
PEDALS KNEE LEVERS OPEN TUNING 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 LKL LKV LKR RKL RKR ------------------------------------------------------------------ F# G Eb D C# G# A E F# E F Eb B C# C# C# Bb G# A A# F# F# F E D F Eb B C# C D G# A E Eb F F B G# C# ------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTES:
- P6 is tuned while RKR is engaged.
(That is, Pedal 6 is used with RKR and raises the Eb on string 4 back to E.) - LKV is extra long so you can use it with all pedals easily.
- LKR is split to allow you to get G on string 6 using P2 in combination.
- LKR is placed away from the player toward the front so there is no obstruction.
- The 6th-type sound is achieved by lowering strings 2, 4, and 8 (RKR).
